🔫Hi, OGCommunity! It's time for today's hottest news:
So let's reconstruct the timeline of events. Helldivers 2 was the cooperative discovery of the last months, firmly holding the first line in the Steam ranking. Due to its incredible popularity, it had to expand its servers repeatedly, and the game was bathed in rave reviews and sales.
The idyll ended when SONY PlayStation stepped in. Recently, they demanded mandatory linking to their accounts, for players from all platforms. Apparently, the temptation to get themselves a fan base of the most popular game at the moment, outweighed common sense. Except that SONY didn't take into account that their accounts can't be officially created in half of the countries of the world.
After that, the nightmare began. Players in a day and a half set an absolute Steam record for a paid game, drowning Helldivers in negative reviews. After tons of memes, scandals and proceedings, SONY went backwards, canceling their demand. Now the reviews are slowly leveling out, and a graphic with huge red bars of the game's rating is about to be added as a reference to the game itself, in the form of a skin on the cape.
And how many nerves could be saved, if there was a DAO system there...
