😂Hi, OGCommunity! It's time for today's hottest news:
So, a few days ago, the internet was abuzz with Mogilevich Gurpiracy claiming that they had successfully hacked Epic Games and stolen almost 200GB of data. The news was picked up and spread in the media, despite denials from Epic Games.
Today Mogilevich admitted that they are not hackers at all, but cunning scammers. The information about the EGS hack was a scam to scam real hackers who were interested in buying stolen data. According to Mogilevich, they managed to cheat 8 hapless datahunters, one for $85k.
However, many users doubt the veracity of this confession. No proof of their words Mogilevich again did not provide. There is a hypothesis that Epic Games paid the ransom amount and non-disclosure on Mogilevich's part was part of the deal.
